Palm Beach County pregnant teen gets help after journaling her struggles

A pregnant high school senior is thanking a Palm Beach County organization for getting her through a difficult time. “I was having problems with school,” said Ka’Mya Hall. “I go to a charter school, and they did not provide me with a computer.”

Hall is also eight months pregnant and in need of basic child care items. So she journaled her story online through the Palm Health Foundation’s SenseMaker Story Collection Project.

#CommunityHeroes: Nonprofits Serve Up Free Hot Meals with a Side of Compassion

For the past four weeks, volunteers at the EJS Project have been serving free hot meals with a side of compassion to put a dent in the need caused by COVID-19.

The steady flow of motorists on Friday was a vivid sign of the economic hardship sown by the pandemic. Each week, the numbers increased, and on Friday they served 400 plates, organizers said.
